Ipoh Road Trip│JLVW

Like I said, our road trip is really happening right ? Yes it is!

Lately, there's quite a few people coincidentally shared places and food review about Ipoh in Facebook that caught our attention. So this was how the idea of the 'Ipoh Road Trip' topic came back.

We had actually thought of it a few times already but didn't had the chance to really initiatively plan the whole road trip out.

It's just another Saturday(5th Sep) that both Jan and Lis was discussing about it and was really into this topic. It was quite a spontaneous one. They asked for everyone's opinion and we make sure all of us could make it and so, that's how actually the plan works. We commit and participate. Heh

and finally it happened . . .

11th September, Friday
with Janice, Lisa, Winnie and me.

I was out from house at about 10.30 am. Drive to Jan's house to pick both Jan and Lis up and then we head to Disted College to pick up Win approximately 11 am just right after her class.
Drive-thru Greenlane McD for burger brunch (Win and me) and to Petronas for toilet break plus bought some bread (Jan) before heading off to Penang Bridge.

Let's begin our journey
We start our journey approximately at about 11.30 am

I really enjoyed the journey rather than the destination

Halfway to Ipoh, there's a little jam (quite long queue)
cause there's an accident of an overload truck/lorry overturned.
Something like that.
After that, it's all smooth

and like finally, we reached Ipoh
about 2 plus afternoon

Then by using Waze, we searched for our first destination
which is at
Hong Kong Mah Chee & Fah Sang Woo @ Pasir Pinji, Ipoh

The location actually took me by surprise.
We didn't know that it would be at a housing area where there's no other shop besides this

The road which Waze leads us to was actually all (sort of) small alley and kampung road

Luckily we managed to find the shop on our own when we're nearby
cause Waze keep leading us away rather than towards our destination.

*There's actually a few problems incur by Waze, hope they'll fixed it soon*
(cause Waze used to be a really dependable GPS)
hope it still is

in the making

Here's the Mah Chee
(I think in Penang, they call it as Muar Chee)

Fah Sang Woo
known as Peanut soup or for me (Penang lang) "Thor Tao Gin Th'ng"

The seller said to put the Mah Chee inside the Fah Sang Woo
in order for it to be more tasty?

I feel the Fah Sang Woo should have heated more
cause it's a little less warm
if it's warmer, then it'll be perfect
(maybe it's harder to get the heat up fast too cause they're using charcoal to heat it up)

Thank you for the Hong Kong dessert in Ipoh
Heh.

Then we head down to the usual-famous-street-at-night
Sorry forgotten about the names already
We got there cause Lis wanna buy the herbal steam chicken? (haha something like that)
Then all of us also would love to get the famous Kayakok

I think this is the Herbal Steam Chicken shop that Lis bought hers

While this is the Kayakok we bought from
(If you wanna know the location, please head to Google and search)
Heh

and then heading to our next location for photo-shooting/picture-snapping
(the latter term feels more suitable cause the first term seems more professional while we're not)

which is
Kellie's Castle @ 31000 Batu Gajah, Perak

we reached here about 3 something afternoon

Before entering to any historical places, I think the most basic thing to do is to
know-about-its-history
(and they did prepared a short brief summary about the history of the castle)
Go on and read it if you were to visit this place. =)

and here WE are

The ticket to enter is RM 5 per entry if you show your IC
Additional RM 5 for each person if you were to bring your camera & all the apparatus along.

so we looked around and realize that their security were not that tight
(and we hid our camera and apparatus when entering)
No need to pay the extra RM 20 for four person. Hah
(not worth it kays)
Why they even make that as a need for payment? There's nothing in Kellie's Castle
Of course only taking pictures is the only option. Duhhh
(So the entrance fee was just a cheap trick, it's actually worth more to enter huhh?)
but does it really worth it to pay that much to have a look in Kellie's Castle?

as if the Kellie's Castle is fully renovated and fully furnished with the beautiful historical interior design (which is not)
then I'll actually consider paying them straight RM10 as entrance fee

**if you feel the pictures we took in Kellie's Castle is nice and worth the price**
Remember this, it's our skills and experience that make the picture looks a little more attractive than it should have been
(ok la give it a little credits too) Kellie's Castle is meant to be an old-historical-unfinished-building, I know but Does it worth RM5 + RM5 per person to enter? (My opinion, nope)

I'll cut the crap and let you enjoy our limited skills and experience of pictures taken.

Picture-Snapping time

that's a Wine cellar (picture above)

and I meant something like that (picture below)
Fully furnished with their historical interior design
Yes they did it but only in one small spaces of the whole castle

the weather is so hazy though

L.O.V.E
you girls

Done touring

a message to Kellie's Castle :
You're actually one nice historical place to have photo-shooting
with the theme 'A-broken-Castle' or some other more meaningful theme that I couldn't think of right now.

I was just only complaining a little about the additional RM5 fee charged just for bringing in the apparatus (camera) to capture and appreciate the beauty of historical buildings. Heh

Okay anyway, I liked all the outcome/results of the pictures taken there.

We leaved just in time when it's time to close which is at 6pm.
We were all superb hungry so we head to our next destination that we initially planned

which is
Euro House @ Jalan Hussein, Taman Jubilee, 30250 Ipoh, Perak

The 4 dishes at Euro House were all in big portion and in affordable prices.
Plus, all of dem' dishes were all satisfying and superb delicious
I'll be back again definitely when I come to Ipoh one day

We ate until about 7 plus to 8 in the evening then straight back to our lovely hometown, Penang
Reached safely at approximately 9 to 10 at night

Conclusion
just love outings like this with ma'girls
 Will there be more?
I bet there will and it certainly will

Till here,
